Argh

LJ is yet again doing the skip a day of the friends list thing! I can still see the entries if I go to the actual journals of my f-list but having it all in one spot was kind of a nice thing y'know?

Went to the mall today to get something for dear ole da for Fathers Day and I ended up buying three bras for $30 at La Senza...which, really it doesn't get any better than that! I also found out that the store that sells those shoes with the wheels on the bottom (which I have been on a quest to find) is having a new order come in today or tomorrow, so I must go back to the mall tomorrow to get them...they will be mine!!

Apparently, since the people at York are a bunch of asshats, they decided that it would be fun to change around all the enrollment access times, some to a week earlier than they were before, without informing anyone. Not even sending an e-mail to say "Hey we changed when you have to sign up for all your courses, so you know, you might wanna get on that". Luckily dear bonkatonkabwanka checked today and noticed the dates had been changed. If she hadn't then we would be kinda screwed...especially since courses fill up in a matter of hours, sometimes minutes.

Went to the bibliotheque today and got a nice stack of young adult books including:
Away Laughing on A Fast Camel which I love to read cause it makes me giggle out loud the whole time
Ella Enchanted
Tricksters Choice and Tricksters Queen because I've read the Protector of the Small series and loved those!

as well as The Scarlet Pimpernel on video as apparently Jamie Bamber makes and appearance in it (shallow is me)...I'd also like to point out that in that link they pair The Scarlet Pimpernel with Babylon 5...umm WTF??

In other news I have been sick since the weekend *cough cough* and ohhhh Stratford has this fun new thing that lets you get tickets for $20 if you are between the ages of 18-29...hmmmm must look into this since we were planning to see As You Like It...I mean Shakespeare and the Barenaked Ladies and the Summer of Love!! Where could that possibly go wrong?

I love 3 bras for $30! I bought some too! Before.

So, we're going to the mall tomorrow then?

Indeed

Trickster's Choice and Queen

Avid Tamora fan, just dropping by to ask if you've read the Alanna books. While Choice and Queen are extremely well written, neither makes a bit of sense if you don't know who her parents are. Matter of fact, it wouldn't hurt to read the Immortals quartet in preparation too. If you have, then sorry for the interruption. If you haven't, then do.

I haven't read the Alanna books...as I can't find them anywhere...I'll try reading Tricksters Choice but if it doesn't make a lot of sense I suppose I'll have to find the Alanna books!

I have them, but seeing as how I don't have any wormholes handy, you'll have to find them (if you're going to read them). Tamora Pierce recently re-released almost everything Tortall-based in the style of the newest books, so all the bookstores around my place have them. Also Tamora Pierce has a website, with updates, appearances, and links to Amazon etc. That site is www.tamora-pierce.com .

Erm, maybe Scarlet Pimpernel -> Jamie Bamber -> Battlestar Galactica -> Babylon 5? In the twisted mind of Amazon.com. Or, well, Amazon.ca, in this case. :P

Also, hello!

[identity profile] sorcha-feanor.livejournal.com 2005-06-15 05:25 pm (UTC)(link)
hello! I randomly friended you...I think from the your_songs community...hope you don't mind!
I suppose that Amazon.ca could have followed that path...still seems a bit odd to me though!

I saw that - I figured it was from that comm, so I friended you back. Always happy to have new friends, I hope I'm not too much of a bore! :D

OK first, I just got back from the mall and saw a girl with the rolly shoes... I'd never seen them before but have decided that they are the height of modern footwear functionality.

And the pairing ofr SP and B5 is 1) most likely a result of people buying both 2) most likely because both are stories of heroism, secrecy, self-sacrifice, with some humour thrown in for good measure. Yes, that was all just pulled from my ass, much like my recent midterms, two of which I now know passed.

the roller shoes are fun...but not affordable at $140 dollars per pair...bah...
